About me
Bitsie Jefferd-Moore (she/her) is a member of the Saagwii Gitanee of the Haida Gwaii Clan. She was born in Nanaimo, BC and raised in Inuvik, NT where she attended elementary and high school. Bitsie holds a BSW from VIU and MSW from the University of Calgary. Mental health and wellness are at the heart of her personal and professional life. In her current role, Bitsie supports Indigenous communities in their health and wellness goals by implementing community development approaches, integrating the social determinants of Indigenous people’s health, supporting Indigenous data sovereignty, and advancing community-identified priorities rooted in cultural safety and anti-racism.
