About me
Dana Francey (she/her) is Inuvialuk from Inuvik. She is the granddaughter of Mary Kaglik and daughter of Judy Kaglik (Francey) and Peter Francey. Dana was born in Inuvik and was raised both in Inuvik and various parts of southern Canada. She has two boys, ages 12 and 17 who are now both taller than her. Dana holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria and a Masters of Social work from the University of Toronto. She has been working within the Health and Social Services System as a social worker since 2014 in various roles all of which are dedicated to improving the lives of Indigenous children and families. She is frequently sought after for her expertise in trauma informed practice and ability to inform policy and practice informed by Indigenous knowledge and experiences.
