About me
Alita is a member of the Tahltan Nation in British Columbia, through her mother. She is also Cree from Saskatchewan through her father. Being a long-time resident of Toronto for fifty years, Alita has worked to serve the Toronto urban Indigenous community for twenty nine years. During that time she has held positions of support and advocacy for Indigenous families and individuals.

She is a mother of four adults and grandmother of three children to her bloodline. Alita is also a Ceremonial Mother, Auntie and Grandmother to many Indigenous community members of all ages in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
